This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance.Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
Job Description
Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in warehouse setting. You will receive full on-the-job training from experienced warehouse operatives.
What You’ll Do:- Receive and Verify Deliveries: Learn how to manage incoming shipments and ensure that each delivery meets our quality standards.
- Assist with Outgoing Orders: Support the preparation and verification of orders leaving the warehouse to ensure that everything is accurate and in good order.
- Maintain Workplace Organisation: Contribute to keeping the warehouse clean, safe, and well-organized as part of our commitment to operational efficiency.
- Explore Stock Control: Gain exposure to inventory management practices, including learning to track stock levels and understanding how to replenish low supplies.
- Experience delivering to customers:
Full Clean driving licence required.
Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection.This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
Participants will receive the following Formal/Informal training.
Formal Training:- Receive training in the provided QQI course
- Manual handling
- (the software you use for the inputting of deliveries and stock)
- (if you are going to be putting the participant into a forklift course or power trolley training)
- Computer Skills
- Stock Control
- Working as part of a team
- Time Management
- Customer service
- Health and safety within a warehouse environment
