Job Summary: Responsible for supporting the Syndicate Team Lead in maintaining/preparing accurate FRS 102/103 ledgers for the seven syndicates that Beazley own and manage. This role sits within the Syndicate Reporting team which comprises 10 finance professionals.You will be involved with the preparation of annual financial statements for the syndicates also.

- Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting- Preparation of quarterly accounting ledgers for seven syndicates. This will involve the use of Agresso (ledger) and Workday (in the future).
- Preparation and review of key balance sheet reconciliations on a quarterly basis.
- Support the preparation and review of the UK GAAP/FRS 102 statutory financial statements for the seven Lloyds syndicates that Beazley own and manage.
- Development and maintenance of complex calculations which support the quarterly close of syndicate ledgers.
- The Syndicate Reporting Team is responsible for all premium, brokerage, binders, claims (incurred/IBNR/ULR), reinsurance (XL & QS), profit commissions, commissions and various other ad-hoc areas of the ledgers for the seven owned and managed syndicates.
- Support the resolution of external audit queries.
- Produce ad-hoc reports and assist other members of Finance with their queries.
Finance projects and process improvements:
- Strive to improve process documentation and efficiency between busy periods.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as they arise.
Personal Specification:
Education and Qualifications- Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent).
- University degree in finance/business/accounting preferred.
- Intermediate/advanced Excel skills essential.
- Experience working with non-life insurance accounting preferred.
- Working knowledge of IFRS/FRS102/FRS103. IFRS 17 knowledge not essential.
- Intermediate skills working with MS Office software, such as Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to work as part of a team.

- Knowledge of non-life insurance company accounting is preferred.
- Knowledge of Lloyds market/syndicate accounting is preferred, but not essential.
