• We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Head of Digital Engineering & Interoperability to lead the design, development, and operation of enterprise-scale digital and clinical integration platforms.
• This is not a pure people management or programme leadership role. We are looking for a senior engineering leader who remains close to architecture, software delivery, interoperability design, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will bring recent hands-on experience designing, building, and operating production systems within complex healthcare or regulated enterprise environments.
• You will lead digital engineering and interoperability capabilities across APIs, integration platforms, healthcare messaging, and cloud-native services while driving engineering standards, SDLC maturity, and technical governance.

• Lead the engineering strategy and technical direction for digital platforms and interoperability services.
• Own the full software development lifecycle from architecture and development through testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Act as the senior technical authority for interoperability and integration architecture.
• Design and oversee enterprise integration platforms, APIs, middleware, and event-driven services.
• Lead architecture, integration, and code reviews while remaining close to day-to-day engineering delivery.
• Drive engineering best practices across CI/CD, code review, automated testing, observability, release management, and incident management.
• Mentor and lead engineering and interoperability teams while maintaining high technical standards.
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready digital services.
• Ensure solutions align with governance, security, and regulatory standards within healthcare environments.

• Extensive experience in software engineering, digital engineering, interoperability, or enterprise integration leadership roles.
• Recent hands-on experience (within the last 3–5 years) designing, building, and operating production-grade systems.
• Strong track record of owning end-to-end software delivery and engineering operations.
• Deep practical experience with healthcare interoperability standards and technologies including HL7 v2, FHIR, APIs, integration engines, and clinical messaging frameworks.
• Experience delivering large-scale clinical integration initiatives and working with EHR systems such as Meditech, Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms.
• Strong experience with API platforms, enterprise integration, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience implementing engineering standards and SDLC frameworks including CI/CD, automated testing, branching strategies, and operational monitoring.
• Strong cloud platform experience across Azure, AWS, or hybrid environments.
• Comfortable acting as both a senior engineering leader and hands-on technical contributor when required.
• Experience working within regulated healthcare or highly governed enterprise environments.
• Must hold a valid Stamp 4 visa or equivalent unrestricted working rights in Ireland.
• Must be based within a commutable distance to Dublin.

• Salary up to €120,000 plus 10% annual bonus.
