Senior UI Engineer
Benjamin is redefining financial services for the B2B market, with a dedicated focus on family offices and corporate service providers - sectors often overlooked by traditional banks.
We are currently in the process of obtaining an EMI (Electronic Money Institution) licence in the UK and Ireland, with a long-term vision to evolve into a fully licensed bank.

About this role
This is a rare opportunity to join Dublin based startup as our foundational UI SME. You’ll report directly to the CTO and will be responsible for designing and implementing a greenfield, full suite React Native UI layer for a new Banking Service.
Benjamin Finance will set dramatically higher standards of banking service excellence for our business customers.

Your Responsibilities
As the Senior UI Engineer, your role will encompass the following:
- UI & UX Design: Develop and oversee the Customer channel and Internal Team UIs and UX, collaborate with the Tech team on architecture of our tech solutions, ensuring delightful UIs, scalability, security, and performance
- Engineer mentorship: Coach engineering team members on UX principles, providing guidance on best practices and engineering processes to introduce and maintain highest standards
- Code development: This is an individual contributor role so coding and actively contributing to the development of core features and functionality will be the main part of the role
- Collaboration across the business: Work closely with business SMEs, Product Designers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of technology with the business objectives and translate that into efficient solutions for the Full stack engineers to implement
- Quality Assurance: Establish a robust UI testing practice across channels and ensure adherence to coding standards throughout the development lifecycle.
- Technology Research: Stay ahead of the curve by researching new technologies and recommending solutions that can enhance our offerings.
- Compliance and Security: Work with compliance and risk team members to implement security measures that safeguard sensitive financial data across all our UIs
- 5+ years deep experience in agile software design & development for Mobile & Web with React Native core and other libraries for multi-channel deployment (iOS, Android & Web)
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience in some or all:
- Banking, payments processing, KYC, AML, Customer onboarding, UX, Data analytics
- Significant experience in multiple UI technologies and frameworks, MFA implementation, SSO, Offline first, local storage, deep linking & Notifications cross channel
- Strong experience in converting Figma's into pixel perfect implementations
- Familiarity with accessibility, internationalisation, scalability, reusability and atomic design
- A proven track record in prioritising automation for velocity and quality as an investment in the business
- Extensive experience in creating standards and mentoring of Software engineers in UI design, implementation, testing, automation, code quality and cyber security
- Significant experience in converting business requirements into tech requirements with close business collaboration
- Some experience in architecture, mentoring of Full Stack Engineers and build DevOps/SRE automation for UI deployments
- Strong experience in assessing and implementing improved development tooling and practices including proven AI Tooling
- Experience in both UI development and visual design is a big plus; we’re looking for someone who can also be the visual ambassador of Benjamin Finance
