We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dairy Farm Assistant to join our progressive dairy farm on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day operation of the farm, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, milk production, and farm maintenance are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Milking dairy cows using modern milking systems.
Feeding and caring for dairy cattle.
Monitoring animal health and reporting any issues to the farm manager.
Calf rearing and assisting during the calving season.
Cleaning and maintaining the milking parlour and farm facilities.
Operating tractors and farm machinery safely (where trained).
Assisting with grazing management, fencing, silage, and general farm maintenance.
Maintaining accurate records of livestock and daily farm activities.
Following all farm health, safety, and biosecurity procedures.
Key Requirements
At least 2 years' experience working on a dairy farm or in livestock farming.
Practical experience with milking, animal husbandry, and calf care.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays on a rostered basis.
Good English communication skills.
Experience operating tractors or farm machinery is desirable.
Full driving licence is an advantage but not essential.- Sector:
