Using an inter-Faculty/intra-Faculty approach, the Faculty will be proactive in its strategic response to the three pillars of the TU Dublin strategic plan in terms of People, Planet, and Partnership. The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at TU Dublin nurtures innovation and creativity across its diverse academic disciplines and is committed to the development, dissemination and preservation of knowledge which benefits society.
Based in TU Dublin’s city campus, the School of Art and Design sits within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities and is primarily located in the recently built East Quad, home to our state-of-the-art studios, workshops and performance spaces.
The School encompasses the disciplines of Art, Design and Visual Culture, at both BA and MA level in areas such as Fine Art, Visual Art, Visual Communication, Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, Product Design and Creative Industries and Visual Culture.
These programmes have a unique academic ethos rooted in research informed, practice led education. This educational model operates through practical studio/ project work leading to a final public exhibition and is informed though all stages of creation by an intensive theoretical and historical study of visual and material culture.
The School is highly active in research, consistently attracting significant research funding, and is a leader in Ireland in Art and Design Doctoral Education, with a highly active cohort of staff supervising PhD/ research students.
The School’s vision is to lead education, practice and research for Ireland’s creative and cultural sector and act as a national and international benchmark for Art & Design Education.
Hours of Work: This is a part-time post. In addition to teaching hours (up to 11 hours per week) is in operation.
Location: The post will be based at one of the TU Dublin Campuses i.e. Aungier Street, Bolton Street, Grangegorman, Blanchardstown or Tallaght. Regular attendance at other sites will be required.
Salary:The Assistant Lecturer Salary Scale is:
- 47,572 - € 64,372 New Entrants (Pro-Rata)
