Description of employment:
Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can keep things moving and deliver when it matters most? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as an HGV Driver - 45 hours week (in line with current driver legislation)
You will be responsible for:
- Drive Heavy Goods Vehicle from depot to loading/unloading point in accordance with the delivery schedule
- Delivering chill, produce and ambient products to all our customers’ premises
- Accurately recording all activities in line with legislation and company requirements
- Ensuring all delivery notes are signed upon delivery
- Adhere to road transport regulations
- Working within the remits of the European Drivers Hours regulations
- Working within the remits of the Working Time Directive
- Ensuring all loads are strapped down adequately
- Checking tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water and fuel levels and general condition of the vehicle
- Agree delivery schedule and route with transport management
- Assist with loading/unloading and ensures that load is evenly distributed and safely secured
- Maintains records of journey times, mileage and hours worked via Tachograph
- Undertake minor repairs and notifies supervisor of any mechanical faults
- Full HGV Class 1 Licence
- Valid Taco Card
- Valid CPC Card
- Must be 25 years+
- Good English verbal and written skills
- Excellent customer service skills
