Job Description
This Work Placement and Experience Programme (WPEP) offers a practical, hands-on opportunity for a Warehouse Operative to gain real workplace experience in a busy warehouse and e-commerce environment. The placement is designed to support learning, skill development, and increased employability through structured, supervised training.
The candidate will learn how a warehouse operates on a day-to-day basis, including order picking and packing, receiving and organising stock, preparing orders for dispatch, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Full training will be provided, with particular emphasis on health and safety, manual handling, accuracy, and teamwork.
This placement is suitable for individuals who are motivated to learn, reliable, and interested in gaining experience in warehouse, logistics, or operations roles. No previous warehouse experience is required, as guidance and support will be provided throughout the placement.
The role offers exposure to real operational processes, helping the participant build confidence, workplace skills, and an understanding of how goods move from warehouse to customer. The experience gained will be transferable to future employment in warehousing, logistics, retail operations, or distribution.
The placement encourages good timekeeping, clear communication, problem solving, adaptability, and professional workplace behaviour while allowing the participant to develop routines, confidence, and responsibility gradually.
