Purchasing / Material Planner - Cork
Overview:
In this role, you will ensure efficient material delivery by responding to MRP signals and collaborating with suppliers and carriers. You will identify and escalate supply chain issues, maintain planning master data, and work cross-functionally with supply chain, procurement, quality, and operations teams.
Key responsibilities include analyzing demand changes, optimizing inventory days on hand, generating reports using SAP and Excel, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs). You may also support other supply chain areas such as customer order processing, logistics, and reporting as needed.
Responsibilities:
Purchasing /Material Planning:
- Ensure accurate response to MRP signals and collaborate with suppliers and carriers to drive efficient delivery of materials.
- Proactively identify and escalate issues within the end-to-end supply chain that may impact customer service levels.
- Maintain planning master data as required.
- Work cross-functionally with supply chain, procurement, quality, and operations to achieve operating targets and drive issue resolution.
Inventory Management and Cross-Functional Activities:
- Analyse changes in demand to identify cross charge opportunity for reserves.
- Identify Inventory trends and provide recommendations to optimise days on hand.
- Generate and publish reports utilising SAP and Excel.
- Analyse data output and prepare files for order fulfilment metrics, product freshness, excess and obsolescence, dashboards, and statistics.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- The role may require the individual to transfer to other supply chain areas, including customer order processing, logistics, and reporting, to support business needs.

Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP and MRP systems.
- Proficient computer skills, specifically in MS Office and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and processes to support various functions within the supply chain.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks, with strong attention to detail.
- Results oriented and committed to achieving objectives; ability to work on own initiative.
- Excellent customer awareness and customer focus.
- Third level qualification in Supply Chain or related discipline.
