Our client, a well-established and growing organisation operating within the energy and sustainability sector, is currently seeking to recruit a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. Role Overview
The Accounts Assistant will primarily support the accounts receivable function, ensuring the accurate preparation of invoices, timely allocation of payments, and maintenance of customer accounts. The successful candidate will also provide assistance to the accounts payable function and support general administrative activities to help ensure efficient day-to-day office operations.
This role would suit an organised, deadline-driven individual with strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach to working with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices.Record, reconcile, and allocate payments received.
Maintain and update customer account records.
Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Respond to customer queries in a timely and professional manner.
Produce weekly debtor reports for the Financial Controller.
Liaise with internal departments to support billing and payment processes.
Provide support to the accounts payable function, including invoice processing, RCT payments, and creditor reconciliations.
Assist with general administrative duties, including filing and document management.
Support the wider finance and administration teams with ad hoc tasks as required.
Candidate Requirements: Technical Skills
Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Sage advantageous).Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Experience & Qualifications:
Accounting Technician qualification or equivalent.1–3 years’ experience in accounts receivable or a similar accounting role.
Previous experience providing administrative or phone support is desirable.
