Your role is pivotal within our team. Our Deputy Director has been in this role for the last 8 years while working on other areas simultaneously. Given our growth, we need to allocate more time to the duties.
Our portfolios represent on average €1.8 million each year, spread across our 5 objectives: Education 49%
Protection 19%Care of our Common Home 12%
Health and Well-Being 17%
Pastoral 3%
Our funders include: Institutional donors 40%The General Public: 28% donations
22% gifted from willsOther 10%
We have 50-70 portfolios each year, our South Sudan Critical Gender Responsive Education Portfolio being the most significant.
Duties: Grant Management
Assist in the coordination of the International Development Programme as per Strategic Framework 2022-2027Be the focal point of contact person for institutional donors
Overseeing our institutional grants, our most significant being Misean Cara
Ensure donor compliance for each portfolio
Coordinate Organisational Capacity Assessments (OCAs) of key partners, action plans and follow-up
Monitor Partner’s Actuals vs Budget, ensuring 10%+/- variances are pre-approved
Support our international Jesuit partners on the design and development of submissions, preparing the below with partner teams: Concept/Preliminary Notes
Full proposalsActuals vs Budget, ensuring 10+/- variances are pre-approved
Results Frameworks
Year-end reports in a timely manner to ensure the following year funding is secured on time
Ensure partner donor compliance in relation to: needs assessments
External evaluationsAnnual safeguarding monitoring reports
External annual financial audits specific to donor funding & co-funding
Gifts
Manage the portfolios of the 18 Gifts in our Gift Catalogue ensuring transfers are made promptly to our partners, progress tracked, and partner reports up to date
Project SupportAssist partners in strategy development
Identify and track emerging opportunities for institutional funding for IJI and for our partners
Identify eligible partners for other institutional funds and lead on funding submissions with partner staff to other institutional donors, via IJIIdentify innovative projects and income generation opportunities with our key partners to complement their work, and improve their funding diversification
Assist partners in business planning, monitoring and reporting for key project income generators
Small Grant FundManaging IJI’s Small Grant Fund which holds a June funding round of proposals of €20,000 or under, with a portfolio of circa 30 projects annually
Ensure the Programme Database is up-to-date and maintained accurately
PublicationsPrepare the statistics, impacts and testimonies of our Annual Report by end Apr each year and share with the communications team for editing, design and publication
Support the communications team in their production of 3 newsletters annually to our supporters
