Job Title: HGV Driver (ADR – Hazardous WasteContract: Full-time, 40 hours per week
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious HGV Driver to join our team, specialising in the collection and transportation of hazardous waste materials, specifically ADR Class 6.1 (Toxic Substances) and Class 6.2 (Infectious Substances).Day to Day:
You will be working as part of our busy and valued transport team in Dublin, service in the South East involved with the safe and timely collection, movement and unloading of healthcare waste from hospitals, doctor’s clinics, pharmacies, home patients etc on a designated route.
Driving our Fleet of Class 1 & Class 2 vehicles, you’ll be the key point of customer contact, completing all associated paperwork and relevant documentation via a hand-held terminal.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate HGV vehicles in line with ADR, tachograph and company regulations.
Collect, transport, and deliver hazardous waste (Mostly Class 6.1 & 6.2).
Complete necessary documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
Provide excellent customer service during collections and deliveries.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and carry out basic vehicle checks.
Act as a customer contact at delivery point of service | Act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users at all times.
Undertake ad-hoc duties as required and display a flexible approach to working times and shifts requirements.
Comply with all reasonable management requests and operate to a high professional standard reporting any accident or incident and promptly completing all other Company documentation.
Requirements
Valid HGV licence (C). Relevant driving experience of Category C vehicles, up to and including 18T.
Up-to-date ADR certification – training can be provided to the right candidateCPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
Previous experience handling hazardous waste preferred (training will be provided if required).
Strong focus on safety and compliance.
