Our client, Tank Pipe and Drain Longford Limited t/a Glancy Enviro, based in Clonterm, Co. Longford, is currently seeking Environmental Officers for immediate start at their facility in Co. Longford.
Key Responsibilities & Duties: Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, permits, and regulatory standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain Environmental Management Systems (EMS), including ISO 14001.Conduct site inspections, audits, and environmental impact assessments.
Monitor and report on environmental performance indicators, such as energy use, waste management, emissions, and pollution control.
Advise project teams on environmental risks, mitigation measures, and best practices.
Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory authorities.
Coordinate environmental training and awareness programmes for staff and contractors.
Respond to environmental incidents, carry out investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
Liaise with local authorities, industry bodies, and environmental agencies.
Support sustainability initiatives, biodiversity plans, and continuous improvement strategies.
Requirements: Candidates must have the requisite experience and knowledge to perform all job duties listed above
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Environmental Officer in a previous roleA formal qualification is not required once the candidate has the requisite work experience in this type of role
Experience working in an environmental or sustainability-focused role.
Good understanding of environmental legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Experience supporting or working with Environmental Management Systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
Ability to carry out site inspections, audits, and environmental risk assessments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and report-writing skills.
Ability to advise teams on environmental issues and best practices.
Knowledge of waste management, pollution prevention, and environmental monitoring.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to environmental protection.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different teams.
Annual Remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay Rate €18.05 per hourWork Location: Tank Pipe and Drain Longford Limited t/a Glancy Enviro, Clonterm, Longford, Co. Longford, N39 H6T0.
