At Osborne, we are delighted to be partnering with a well-established not-for-profit organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to a meaningful organisation, working across financial reporting, compliance, audit, and system improvements.
About the Role
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations while driving efficiencies in reporting and auditing processes. This role offers an exciting mix of strategic financial management, stakeholder collaboration, and systems improvement.
The Ideal Financial Accountant:
Accountancy Qualification2+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a commercial or not-for-profit sector setting.
Experience in financial reporting, auditing, and internal controls.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:
Ensure compliance with Charities Acts and accounting standards.Support month-end and quarter-end financial processes, including ledger reviews and journal postings.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports for management.
Monitor collections, track income, and reconcile records using financial systems.
Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial insights.
Recommend and implement internal controls for financial processes.
Act as a key liaison for external auditors, ensuring efficient audit processes.
Prepare detailed audit documentation, reconciliations, and financial reports.
Work with software providers to enhance and automate financial systems.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Oversee tax relief claims on charitable donations.
Provide guidance to finance team members and stakeholders on financial best practices.
Support ongoing projects, including system upgrades and financial initiatives.
