Position: Product Development Manager

Location: Dublin 15 (with re-location to Dunshaughlin in 2026)

We are looking for an experienced and innovative Product Development Manager to lead the development, enhancement, and lifecycle management of products within our construction materials portfolio. This role will work closely with sales, procurement, technical, and marketing teams to identify market needs, source or develop new products, and ensure successful go-to-market execution.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction materials, supply chain, building regulations, and emerging trends in the construction sector (e.g., sustainability, fire safety, modern methods of construction).

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Development
  • Lead the development and introduction of new construction material products aligned with company strategy and market demand.
  • Identify gaps in the existing product portfolio and develop business cases for new product lines.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers or manufacturing partners in coordination with procurement and technical teams.
  • Work with R&D (internal or external) to test product feasibility, compliance, and performance.
Market & Customer Insight
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments.
  • Gather customer feedback via the sales team, site visits, and direct engagement to inform product improvement or innovation.
  • Benchmark existing and prospective products against industry best practice and standards.
Technical & Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure all new and existing products meet relevant standards and regulations (e.g., CE marking, EN standards, fire compliance, thermal performance).
  • Collaborate with third-party test houses and certification bodies as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, datasheets, and declarations of performance (DoPs).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to create go-to-market strategies, product launches, and training materials.
  • Support the Commercial and Procurement teams with supplier onboarding, pricing structures, and stock forecasting.
  • Provide internal training to sales, technical support, and operations on new products and key features.
Lifecycle & Portfolio Management
  • Manage the product lifecycle from concept to discontinuation.
  • Monitor product performance, margin, volume, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement, including sourcing optimizations, packaging upgrades, or specification enhancements.
Requirements
  • 5+ years experience in product development, technical sales, or procurement within construction or building materials.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office and product/project management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and building regulations.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to balance product performance, cost, and marketability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong project management abilities.
