Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Quality Assurance Inspector to oversee and verify the quality of mechanical installations on a large-scale Tool Install semiconductor project in Kildare. The QA Inspector ensures that all mechanical work is executed in compliance with project specifications, national regulations and international quality standards.This role is critical in delivering safe, code-compliant, and high-quality mechanical systems for the client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and verify the quality of mechanical installations, including piping systems, HVAC equipment, ductwork, valves, supports, and associated components.
- Conduct walkdowns, audits, and inspections at various stages of installation.
- Review and ensure compliance with project specifications, mechanical codes, and industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO).
- Check and sign off on installation records, test sheets, redline/as-built drawings, and handover documentation.
- Liaise with mechanical supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to address non-conformances or quality issues.
- Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with Health and Safety Authority (HSA) regulations and site safety requirements.
- Participate in quality control meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Mechanical Technician or Engineer; additional certification in Quality Management is advantageous.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in mechanical QA/QC roles on industrial or large commercial projects; Semiconductor Tool Install experience is a plus.
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with mechanical testing procedures and documentation control.
- Strong attention to detail and familiarity with quality control systems and procedures (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Competent in reading technical drawings, P&IDs, and QA checklists.
Desirable:
- Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., semiconductor, pharma, data centres, or cleanroom projects).
- Proficiency with digital QA platforms and reporting tools (e.g., EIDA, BIM 360, or similar).
Working Conditions:
- Site-based role with regular inspections in active construction environments.
- All personnel are required to adhere to site rules and always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
