QA Engineer - Contract

Day Rate: Competitive, depending on experience

About the Role

We are seeking a QA Engineer (Contract) to join an established development team working on enterprise-level software solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring product quality through meticulous testing, documentation, and collaboration with developers and stakeholders.

• Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases based on product requirements and user stories.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing across web and API layers.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to identify, document, and resolve defects.
• Contribute to test planning and continuous process improvement within the QA function.
• Track and manage issues using Jira or similar defect-tracking tools.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing QA insight and support throughout sprint cycles.
• Ensure that all releases meet defined quality and performance standards prior to deployment.

• 3+ years' experience in software QA (manual and/or automated).
• Proficiency in writing and executing test plans, cases, and scripts.
• Experience with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright (or similar automation frameworks).
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Solid knowledge of SDLC and QA best practices.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
• Knowledge of SQL for data validation.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Background in performance or security testing.

• Type: Daily-rate contract
• Duration: 6-12 months (potential for renewal)
• Location: Remote (Ireland-based candidates preferred)
