The Senior Account Manager is a key role responsible for driving business growth and managing critical accounts across Europe, reporting directly to the Regional Director. This position combines strategic business development, relationship management, and hands-on account oversight.
The role focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding market share, and ensuring customer retention through tailored solutions.
The Senior Account Manager will:
- Lead major account relationships, primarily in Ireland, with frequent travel across the UK and Europe.
- Identify new business opportunities through market analysis and industry intelligence.
- Collaborate with the European leadership team to align sales strategies with regional objectives.
- Mentor junior account managers and contribute to modernising and expanding the company’s European operations.
- Manage and grow relationships with top accounts in Ireland, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve targets and expand market share.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, trends, and competitive threats.
- Act as a trusted advisor, delivering tailored solutions to meet client needs.
- Prepare detailed sales reports and forecasts, using data to guide decision-making.
- Negotiate contracts to secure favourable terms while maintaining client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
- Build partnerships with suppliers and industry stakeholders to support business objectives.
- Monitor account performance and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Gather and analyse customer feedback to improve service and product offerings.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Degree/MSc/MBA (preferred in Polymer Science, Engineering, or related fields).
Experience:
- 10+ years in account management, business development, or similar roles in the polymer, chemical, or manufacturing industries.
- Proven track record in managing large, high-value accounts (OEMs, moulders) with multi-million-euro contracts.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and sales strategy at a regional or global level.
- Customer-focused with strong relationship management skills.
- Results-driven, with a track record of delivering against targets.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and collaboration abilities.
- Innovative thinker with business acumen.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
- Proficiency in English and digital tools (Salesforce, Tableau, SAP); openness to emerging tech (AI, analytics).
