We are recruiting an experienced Hospital Chef to join a respected healthcare facility in Dublin 24, preparing fresh, nutritious meals that directly support patient care, recovery and wellbeing.
This is a hands-on healthcare kitchen role suited to chefs with experience in hospital kitchens, healthcare catering or large-scale food service environments who value structure, consistency and high professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present nutritious meals in line with dietary, nutritional and clinical guidelinesSupport and manage daily kitchen operations to ensure quality, consistency and efficiency
Lead, guide and support kitchen staff to maintain strong teamwork and service flow
Follow HACCP, cook-chill, food safety, hygiene and infection control procedures at all times
Oversee stock control, food storage, labelling and waste reduction
Monitor portion control, allergen management and food presentation standards
Collaborate with dietitians and healthcare teams on menu planning and meal adaptations
Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and healthcare safety standards
Requirements
Professional chef qualification (QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent)Proven experience as a Hospital Chef, Healthcare Chef or in high-volume catering
Strong knowledge of HACCP, food hygiene and cook-chill systems
Legal right to work in Ireland and ability to complete Garda Vetting
Ability to provide 5 years of verifiable work references
Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills
Flexibility to work across a Monday–Sunday roster as required
Salary & Benefits
€20.50 per hourDouble pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays
3 days per week, daytime hours only (typically 7:00am–6:00pm)
