Castlebar - Head Chef - County Mayo

Sky Staffing Solutions is hiring on behalf of our client for the position of Head Chef in County Mayo. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a highly experienced and driven culinary professional to take full charge of kitchen operations in a busy, high-standard environment.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in team leadership, menu innovation, and food cost management, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences and driving continuous improvement in food quality and kitchen performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including planning, staffing, stock management, and service
• Lead, train, and motivate the kitchen team to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes
• Develop innovative and seasonal menus aligned with customer preferences and business goals
• Manage food costs, portion control, and wastage to achieve targeted profit margins
• Ensure all health, hygiene, and food safety standards are upheld, including full HACCP compliance
• Collaborate with management on operational improvements and guest satisfaction initiatives
• Maintain equipment, ensure kitchen cleanliness, and monitor food preparation areas
• Respond professionally to feedback and implement quality improvements

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior chef role, with at least 2 years as Head Chef
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
• Excellent culinary and presentation skills with a passion for high standards
• Proven experience in managing food costs and kitchen budgets
• In-depth knowledge of HACCP and food safety legislation
• Flexibility with working hours including weekends and peak service times
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
