I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and busy 4-vet mixed animal practice that provides care to both farm and companion animals on a 50/50 basis. Deeply rooted in the local community, the team is known for their compassionate, professional, and responsive service.
This is a front-of-house and administrative role, combining client-facing duties with behind-the-scenes office support. You’ll be the first point of contact for clients in person and over the phone, while also supporting the team with scheduling, invoicing, and general admin.
They’re now seeking a Receptionist/Administrator to join their friendly and hardworking practice team.

For the right candidate, there is also scope to grow into a practice management role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting clients and animals in a warm and professional manner
- Answering phones, managing appointments, and handling queries
- Scheduling appointments for both large and small animals
- Maintaining accurate client and animal records using Vetscope
- Processing supplier invoices and basic bookkeeping
- Handling daily reconciliations and assisting with till balancing
- Liaising with vets and nurses to coordinate smooth appointment flow and call-outs
- Assisting with stock orders and call-out coordination
- Carrying out general admin duties such as filing, updating spreadsheets, and record keeping
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience in a veterinary or healthcare setting (preferred but not essential)
- A strong interest in animal care and the work of a veterinary practice
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Experience with spreadsheets and a good understanding of VAT (desirable)
- Willingness to learn new systems (training provided on Vetscope)
- An interest in rural life or familiarity with farming is a bonus
