Morgan McKinley is delighted to be partnering with a leading name in the retail sector to recruit a commercially driven Assistant Merchandise Planner in Dublin.

Working within a high-performing team, this Assistant Merchandise Planner will play a key role in supporting sales performance, optimising product distribution, and leveraging data insights to drive decision-making. This position offers a unique chance to gain exposure to major global retail brands and make a measurable impact on trading operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of merchandise plans and inventory strategies.
  • Analyze sales performance, stock levels, and trends to support decision-making.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Work closely with the Buying, Merchandising, and Allocation teams to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Support the creation of financial forecasts and assist in budgeting processes.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify risks and opportunities for sales growth.
  • Utilize Excel to create complex reports, dashboards, and data models.
  • Assist in markdown planning and promotional strategies to drive profitability.
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure timely stock replenishment.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and stock reconciliations.

What We're Looking For:

  • 2+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or a related role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel. Experience with merchandise planning systems and business intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
