Financial Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a Finance Analyst to join our finance team on a temporary contract. This role supports the timely and accurate preparation of financial accounts, reporting, and analysis, while partnering with the business to support decision-making and operational performance.

This position is well suited to a finance professional looking for an opportunity in a fast-paced environment.

Job Purpose

To support the preparation of monthly financial accounts, analysis, and associated reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, while providing meaningful financial insight to stakeholders.

• Prepare and report monthly financial accounts through financial reporting systems in a timely and accurate manner.
• Produce monthly financial reports and analysis for management.
• Perform analytical reviews of monthly financial results.
• Monitor, track, and explain financial variances against budget and forecast.
• Support compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements (e.g. SOX).
• Liaise with internal and external auditors as required.
• Assist with the implementation and enhancement of financial and reporting systems.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of income statement and balance sheet accounts.
• Support General Ledger maintenance and period-end close activities.
• Provide finance support and analysis to operational and functional teams.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
• Contribute to finance-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Essential - Qualified accountant or finance professional with ideally 2+ years' experience in a finance or analytical role.
• Essential - Level 8 qualification (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is an advantage.
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
