We’re partnering with a leading global financial services organisation to hire a Major Incident Manager to join their Galway-based technology operations team.
This is a critical, high-visibility role responsible for leading the response to major incidents impacting business-critical systems, ensuring swift resolution and clear communication across global teams and senior stakeholders.
You’ll work in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment where strong coordination, communication, and technical awareness are key.
Shift Pattern & Working Model- 4 x 10-hour shifts per week
- Core shift: Saturday–Tuesday (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Irish Time)
- Alternative rotation: Thursday–Sunday (based on team needs)
- Weekend shifts fully remote (office closed)
- Weekday shifts aligned with hybrid/team onsite schedule
- Act as the lead coordinator for Major Incidents impacting production systems
- Drive rapid triage, investigation, and resolution in line with SLAs
- Provide clear, structured communications to technical teams and leadership
- Own and maintain accurate business impact assessments and recovery plans
- Coordinate multiple technical teams across infrastructure, applications, and network domains
- Ensure timely escalation and stakeholder alignment during critical incidents
- Collaborate closely with Change and Problem Management functions
- Monitor alerts and lead real-time incident response and prioritisation
- Manage multiple parallel incident workstreams under tight deadlines
- Identify trends and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong experience in Incident Management / Major Incident Management
- Solid networking knowledge and overall technical awareness of IT environments
- Proven ability to operate in high-pressure, real-time operational settings
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into business impact
- Strong multitasking and prioritisation skills across concurrent incidents
- Experience working with globally distributed teams
- Analytical mindset with experience in incident data analysis and trend identification
- Ability to remain calm and decisive during complex, high-severity incidents
- High-impact role with direct exposure to enterprise-scale systems and global operations
- Strong collaboration with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
