The Beaumont Hospital Deputy JCI Accreditation Manager will be a key leader in the review, implementation, and development of the hospitals Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation programme.

The post holder will report to the Hospital JCI Accreditation Manager.

In addition the Deputy Accreditation Manager will support the Director of Quality in the co-ordination and implementation of the Hospital Quality Improvement Programme.

Responsibilities:

Principal Roles and Responsibilities:

The purpose of a JCI accreditation project is to assess the extent of a hospital’s compliance with applicable JCI standards and support the development of programs and projects to meet, and maintain compliance.

The Deputy Accreditation Manager will support the Hospital Accreditation Manager to review and implement all aspects of the JCI Accreditation process including but not limited to;
  • Pre-assessment of compliance with JCI standards.
  • Identification and implementation of quality improvement projects to identify and address any identified gaps.
  • Ongoing monitoring of compliance
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of hospital survey activities.
  • Coordinate and engage in tracer methodology for validation and continual process review
The post of the Deputy Accreditation Manager will work with the JCI Team to facilitate and implement accreditation processes. The principal roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to;
  • The post holder will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of an acute hospital environment including an understanding of clinical processes related to healthcare services (e.g. patient assessment, medication practices, hospital operations etc.).
  • Support the JCI team with ensuring accreditation compliance and co-ordinate aspects of evidential compliance in the form of policies and procedures, KPIs, QIPs, audits, tracers and data collection.
  • Advise on clinical processes, ensuring compliance with JCI accreditation standards.
  • Participate fully in the development, identification, and co-ordination of activities associated with the hospital Quality Improvement Programme to support compliance with the JCI Hospital Standards.
  • Liaise with Executive Management, Quality Assessment Teams, Directorate Management teams, Hospital Departments, members of the Quality and Patient Safety Directorate, and other identified leaders to support the accreditation process.
  • Serve as a lead in the coordination and facilitation of accreditation and act as a resource to staff on issues related to accreditation compliance and quality Improvement programs.
  • Engage in and provide support in the development of audit and tracer methodology for validation and continual process review.
  • Support the development of hospital staff and key stakeholders to include knowledge and practice pertaining to accreditation and regulatory compliance.

General Responsibilities:

The JCI Accreditation Deputy Manager will:

  • Facilitate communication and coordination among the various hospital stakeholders related to JCI activities.
  • Manage day to day communications with the hospital team(s) to ensure groups receive the necessary support to work effectively to deliver on improvement projects.
  • Participate in the development and co-ordination of activities associated with the hospital Quality Improvement Programme to support compliance with the JCI Hospital Standards.
  • Provide operational support related to project coordination and development of JCI Accreditation and project teams.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and facilitate educational sessions for hospital staff related to JCI Standards.
  • Liaise with relevant medical, nursing, allied healthcare professionals in the advisement and review of clinical practices.
  • Support the development of hospital staff and key stakeholders to include knowledge and practices pertaining to accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and/or presentations in line with requirements of the Hospital Accreditation Team.
  • Support in the development and review of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines to support hospital processes as required
  • Provide additional support to the Hospital based on the needs of the Accreditation Project.
  • Additionally the post of deputy manager will be responsible for;
  • Deputising on behalf of the JCI manager (as required),
  • Supervision, development, and Line management of JCI team members.

Qualifications:

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience:

  • Nursing or Allied Health background required.
  • Minimum 3 years of hospital clinical experience required.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in healthcare related field (or equivalent)
  • Be proficient in the use of Information Communication Technology, Computers, Software Packages (MS Office, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
  • Have knowledge and experience in accreditation, patient care, regulatory, quality, compliance, and / or JCI.
  • Experience in quality improvement and accreditation processes and procedures
  • Have knowledge and experience in conducting audits and tracer methodology.
  • Have knowledge of quality management systems, quality initiatives and / or quality projects.
  • Previous experience in a management role.
  • Previous experience in project management / project support.
