We are recruiting a Clerical Officer (Finance) to support a busy Finance Department on a temporary basis. This role suits an organised administrator with finance experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide clerical and administrative support to the Finance team
Process invoices daily using Sage 200
Apply and reconcile PSWT and ensure Prompt Payment compliance
Raise purchase orders and check travel and subsistence claims
Liaise with budget holders to secure timely invoice approvals
Act as first point of contact for finance-related queries
Maintain finance trackers, bank statements, and shared inbox
Prepare spreadsheets and support ad hoc finance tasks
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year’s administrative experience in a finance role
Knowledge of public sector finance processes
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to manage deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office and general office systems
