The Mechanical Estimator will play a crucial role in the tendering process, working closely with design, project management, and procurement teams to develop cost-effective and innovative solutions that meet client specifications.
You will be instrumental in evaluating the buildability of designs, selecting appropriate materials, and identifying opportunities for innovation. Additionally, you will provide high-level pricing information at the early stages of tenders, aiding in the optioneering and budgeting processes to ensure that Glanua offers the most competitive and efficient solutions.This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, as well as a strong grasp of the latest industry trends and technologies.
As a Mechanical Estimator at Glanua, you will also ensure that all risk and governance procedures are rigorously followed and documented, contributing to the overall success and compliance of the project. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Mechanical Estimator are outlined as follows:
Estimate Preparation: Develop detailed and accurate estimates for mechanical engineering works based on outline drawings and specifications.
Ensure that estimates reflect a realistic level of risk and adhere to company guidelines and industry standards.Design Development Participation:
Engage in the design development process to evaluate buildability, material selection, innovative solutions, and cost-effectiveness.
Provide early-stage pricing information during tendering to assist in optioneering and budgeting, ensuring that the most cost-effective solutions are proposed.
Risk and Governance Compliance:
Ensure all procedures, including risk management and governance processes, are followed, thoroughly documented, and properly authorised.
Tender Preparation: Contribute to the development of Tender Preparation and Tender Construction programmes.Collaborate with other functions to prepare a detailed staff schedule for tenders, using insights from successful projects. Procurement Planning: Work with central and regional buyers to prepare a procurement plan.
