How you’ll make an impact:SiriusXM is rapidly expanding its services to drive further engagement of consumers via smartphones, tablets, PCs, and connected devices, while continuing to maintain and grow its adoption in connected cars. This position will help lead our efforts to increase intelligent observability, predictability, and actionability of how our products perform.
This position is presented with the opportunity to be at the starting phase of a major replatforming effort across many aspects of our environment, which presents an opportunity to rethink our understanding, processes, and tools. The coverage area crosses the services, data, media, and client applications that power our automotive and digital experiences, with an emphasis on identity and access management.
What you’ll do: Operate within a high performing engineering team focused on widening their knowledge of the environment
Help lead SLI, SLA, and SLO definition with Quality of Streaming, Merchandising and Editorial teams.Lead operational engineering efforts to enhance observability through systems and interactions through media, content, and ads pipelines
Focus on customer intent and delight in architecting operational engineering activities
Assist in roadmap definition with stakeholders to meet quarterly and yearly objectives & key results
Be responsible for leading ceremony and presentations of roadmaps and status
Coordinate with DevOps teams on model revisions and improvements
Delve deep into process, monitoring, and tooling improvements
Leverage observability tools to view and report on changes in streaming quality as new product features are deployed. Collaborate with QA and Content teams on enhanced understanding of the streaming application experience
Provide Tier 2+/advanced application troubleshooting and support
Lead the efforts to understand system interactions for key user journeys
Serve as key member of post-incident review and analysis

This role will work within a geographically dispersed team
What you’ll need: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management or similar field, or equivalent experience, in lieu of degree
5+ years’ experience in implementing and providing advanced operational support for streaming media solutions- 5 years’ experience in 24/7 support environment
Fundamental understanding of the most current AWS concepts and technologies
Experience and proven track record of maintaining software at scale to millions of active users
Expert understanding of observability tooling: Conviva, Datadog, SentryIO & AWS
Proven ability to foster and grow world-class operational support
Excellent interpersonal skills; effectively communicate and collaborate with multiple levels of Business, Product, and Engineering teamsStrong understanding of engineering software processes, lifecycle methodology, configuration management, release management, and system verification and testing.
Technical experience in the following areas: Broadcast and digital media
Content serving and distribution networksAgile/Scrum methodologies
