Our category buyers work within our ERP system assessing material requirement and ensuring delivery to site on time for production. Category buyers own a section of materials which they own and understand. They work closely with suppliers and production.

Responsibilities Include:

• Create request for quotations.
• Create purchase orders.
• Ensuring material will be delivered on time.

• Reports are run weekly to provide critical information on rescheduling or cancellation of orders as per production plan.
• Request drawings where applicable for submission to supplier.

• Ensuring for on time delivery or requesting materials is delivered earlier if necessary.
• Part takes in meetings with suppliers to review performance etc.
• Evaluating supervisor’s delivery performance on a weekly basis.

• Ensuring all material is collected or shipped on time.
• Enter shipping confirmations once order acknowledgment received from suppliers.
• Ensure that material arrives in time and in conjunction with planning.
• Organise shipments and collections from suppliers.

• Ensuring the planning department is scheduling production orders in an efficient manner.

1. 3 years in a similar purchasing role.

Proficiency in use of Word, Excel, Outlook.

• Good communication skills for effective liaison with production and suppliers
