Supply Chain Manager

Reporting to: Operations Director

A new opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Manager to take full responsibility for the supply chain function, including ordering, production planning, and warehousing. This role plays a key part in optimising costs, improving efficiency, and supporting overall business goals.

Role Overview:

This role will support the organisation’s growth ambitions by establishing and developing Supply Chain operations to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to strategy development to ensure high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.
• Take responsibility for end-to-end management of materials, products, and warehouse operations.
• Develop systems and processes to improve performance metrics.
• Establish and develop Supply Chain functions to support business growth.
• Optimise stock holding of materials and finished goods.
• Develop the team and promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.

• Ensure safe, efficient, and effective warehouse operations.
• Work with the Warehouse Supervisor to manage inbound and outbound logistics.
• Implement best practice across all warehouse functions.
• Ensure accurate and secure inventory management.
• Coordinate effectively with other departments.

• Ensure timely ordering of raw materials in line with production requirements.
• Oversee order quantities, delivery terms, and supplier performance.
• Negotiate terms and prices with suppliers and freight companies.
• Monitor supplier contracts and performance.
• Support the Sales & Operational Planning process.

• Lead the planning function to maximise production efficiencies while meeting customer expectations.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of operations; may be required to complete production plans.

• Work with internal and external logistics providers to ensure cost-effective, efficient operations.
• Communicate transport issues promptly and minimise disruption.

• Align Supply Chain objectives with other departments.
• Communicate and report Supply Chain performance metrics.

• Ensure a safe working environment.
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure timely close-out of near misses and incidents.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality, and Hygiene standards.
• Keep the warehouse in an audit-ready state.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Supply Chain team

• Customer service
• Inventory stock levels and turnover rate
• Operational efficiency and cost reduction
• On-time delivery and order accuracy
• Supplier performance and contract compliance
• Cost savings through efficiency improvements

• Third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in a Warehouse or Logistics environment.
• Experience working in a Food/Drinks/Pharma production environment desirable
• Experience working in a Lean environment is an advantage.
