The Logistics Planner is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and optimising the movement of goods to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery. This role involves analysing transportation routes, managing carrier relationships, monitoring inventory movements, and collaborating with customs brokers across multiple routes to verify accurate duty and customs charges.

The position also focuses on identifying and resolving logistical challenges to support and enhance overall customer service performance.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee the transportation and distribution of goods to ensure timely, efficient delivery.
  • Develop and optimise delivery routes and shipment schedules to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support service level targets.
  • Coordinate closely with suppliers, carriers, warehouses, and internal teams to ensure smooth logistics operations and on-time deliveries.
  • Monitor shipment progress, proactively address delays, and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of shipments, inventory movements, and logistics data.
  • Ensure full compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Utilise logistics software and tools to track shipments, analyse performance, and generate reports and insights.
  • Manage relationships with transportation providers and customs brokers, including negotiating service agreements and monitoring performance.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, production, and project management teams to align logistics activities with broader business needs and project timelines.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and overall supply chain optimisation.
  • Office-based, with regular visits to internal warehouses, third-party logistics (3PL) facilities, and vendor sites as required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics planning, supply chain coordination, or transportation management.
  • Proficiency with Logistics Management Systems (LMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, freight terms, customs procedures, and shipping documentation.
  • Office-based, with regular visits to internal warehouses, third-party logistics (3PL) facilities, and vendor sites as required.
