Director of Nursing Roscommon New

Cpl Healthcare in partnership with our client is currently recruiting a Director of Nursing or an Assistant Director of Nursing looking to progress and secure a DON position. Our client is a 60+ bedded aged care facility based in Roscommon providing an array of services including convalescences long and short-term care, respite and palliative care.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aged care, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

§ Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department

§ Develop and implement nursing care plans.

§ Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and other relevant regulations.

§ Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate nursing staff.

§ Coordinate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.

§ Manage the nursing department's budget and resources.

§ Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.

§ Address any issues or complaints regarding nursing care.

§ Stay current with the latest nursing practices and healthcare trends.

Qualifications:

§ Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMBI registration.

§ Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)

§ Master's degree preferred.

§ Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

§ Strong leadership and communication skills.

§ Knowledge of regulatory requirements for long-term care facilities.

§ Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
