This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
YMCA Dublin has been working with young people in Dublin’s Inner City for 170 years. We run programmes in youth work, education, family support, community childcare and community employment. To support our services, we run two social enterprises – Dublin YMCA Gym and YMCA Childcare in Aungier Street.
The Receptionist is responsible for providing secretarial, clerical and administrative support in order to ensure that services are provided in an effective and efficient manner.
This is a Community Employment Scheme position working 19.5hrs per week.Requiring 3 shifts per week; 3pm - 10pm.
Location: Aungier St. Dublin
Task Overview: Ensure all visitors to the YMCA are welcomed with a friendly and professional manner.
Provide all customers/visitors with the information they require in a timely and professional manner following all systems in place.Deal with general enquiries including bookings both in person and by telephone.
Operation of the public address system.
Hiring of equipment, taking of deposits, selling goods and giving change.
Maintain a good product knowledge of the services available across the YMCA.
Ensure that the reception area is maintained in a clean and tidy manner at all times.
Ensure that the cash handling procedures are adhered to.
Ensure all systems/process/procedures are completed during and at the end of each shift.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities: To take bookings and monies and to reconcile cash with bookings at the end of the day.
To control entry into the YMCA.To be responsible for the safe handling, administration and storage of all financial transactions.
To be responsible for the efficient and accurate operation of the computer based booking system.
To provide a first line of communication for enquiries, complaints and messages.
To provide information and advice wherever possible on YMCA activities and services.
To liaise with the management team in order to seek consistent improvements in efficiency and customer service.
To attend team meetings and staff training sessions as required.
To be knowledgeable of the different services within the organisation.
General administrative and clerical support.
Upselling of YMCA Childcare, Gym Membership and Room Rentals.
Process orders, forms, applications and requests.
Communicate and coordinate with internal departments.
As a term of employment, you may be required to undertake such other duties and hours of work as may be reasonably required.
