Role Overview:
My client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee or Part Qualifed Accountant to join their small but busy accountancy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in accounting, gain hands-on experience, and work towards a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent).
Tralee based
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Support the production of management accounts and financial reports
- Perform bookkeeping duties using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain client ledgers
- Assist in the preparation and filing of VAT returns and tax returns
- Liaise with clients by phone and email regarding queries and documentation
- Support with payroll processing and related compliance tasks
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
- Carry out administrative duties to support the smooth running of the practice
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (or working towards)
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
- Eagerness to learn and develop within the accounting profession
