• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues
• Perform full vehicle servicing and maintenance
• Carry out engine rebuilds, timing belt replacements, clutch, brake, suspension, and transmission work
• Use advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify faults
• Carry out software updates and resets on electronic control systems
• Interpret fault codes and recommend suitable repair solutions
• Liaise with customers on work required and completed
• Maintain detailed records of repairs and parts used
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workshop
• Program and reprogram electronic control units (ECUs) and key fobs using OEM and aftermarket tools
• Interpret fault codes and apply manufacturer-recommended solutions
• Liaise with customers to explain issues and work performed
• Maintain accurate logs of diagnostics, repairs, and parts
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental standards

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a professional car mechanic
• Recognized qualification in Motor Mechanics (e.g. QQI Level 6 or equivalent)
• Proven experience with advanced mechanical repair work
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience in ECU diagnostics and reprogramming, immobilizer reset, and key coding
• Ability to configure vehicle settings using diagnostic tools and manufacturer software
• Basic programming knowledge to support modern vehicle software systems
• Comfortable using diagnostic software such as Bosch, Snap-On, or Autel
• Strong attention to detail and high-quality standards
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential

• Experience working on hybrid and electric vehicles
• Full, clean driving license
• Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
