Revenue is recruiting Customs Officers, to work on a shift basis, as an important part of busy teams involved in facilitating the flow of legitimate trade (imports and exports) and the identification and combatting of illicit trade.

These roles offer exciting opportunities to work in Dublin and Rosslare Ports, Dublin Airport, Dublin Mail Centre, Athlone and Portarlington parcel distribution centres, and on the eCustoms Helpdesk (Rosslare).

Depending on the specific role, the work can include carrying out documentary checks and other controls as a result of EU or national risk profiles, liaising with other Government Departments/Agencies, and physical searches of vehicles for the presence of illicit goods.

You will be involved in a wide range of interesting and challenging work that is varied, personally rewarding, and sometimes physically demanding, with a combination of indoor and outdoor duties. Appropriate training, mentoring and support will be provided as well as opportunities for professional development and career progression.

The starting salary is €30,690.92. In addition to basic pay a 25% shift premium is payable for attendance on a 24/7 shift pattern in Dublin and Rosslare, increasing the starting salary to €38,363.65, and a 16% shift premium is payable for attendance on a 16/7 shift pattern in Athlone and Portarlington, increasing the starting salary to €35,601.47.
