Accounts Administrator - 4 day option available

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Accounts Administrator to join a busy, well-established business on the west side of the city. This is a varied, hands-on role offering flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to become a key support across finance, projects, and office operations.

This position combines accounts, payroll support, project administration, and office management. You will play a central role in keeping financial records accurate, projects organised, and the office running smoothly.

This role is based on site - Option to work over 4 days (30 Hours). Flexibility with starting times.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle invoicing, expense tracking, bill payments, and debtor management
  • Prepare bi-monthly VAT returns and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Produce management reports as required
  • Maintain annual accounts file and liaise with external accountants
  • Support monthly payroll processing
  • Process wage payments and issue payslips
  • Maintain staff records including expenses, annual leave, and payroll documentation
  • Support project teams with tender submissions, preparing and collating documentation
  • Set up new projects on internal systems and maintain accurate project data
  • Log staff project hours weekly
  • Ensure professional memberships and CPD records are maintained
  • Manage day-to-day office administration, phone calls, emails, and queries
  • Liaise with staff, suppliers, and clients
  • Order office supplies and manage stock levels
  • Book travel and accommodation when required
  • Maintain databases, records, and company policies
  • Prepare presentations and support management with ad-hoc administrative tasks

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience in a similar accounts and administration role
  • Experience using QuickBooks (or similar online accounting software such as Sage)
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working independently and managing a varied workload
