Role Overview
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a dedicated Accounts Executive to join their team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take full ownership of the day-to-day financial operations and office administration. This is an autonomous role ideal for a commercially-minded professional who thrives in a varied environment, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to build a stable, long-term career.
Key Duties & Responsibilities- Core Accounting: Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including VAT returns, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
- Transactional Banking: Ensure timely, accurate tracking, inputting, and management of banking information.
- Ledger Management: Process purchase and sales invoices while maintaining accurate accounting records and filing systems.
- Credit Control: Monitor outstanding payments and proactively follow up on overdue accounts.
- Queries & Communication: Act as the main point of contact to resolve invoice or account queries with suppliers and internal teams.
- Executive Support: Provide general administrative assistance, manage expenses, handle ad-hoc reporting, and assist external auditors with year-end processes.
- Experience: Proven background in accounts, bookkeeping, banking, or multi-functional office administration. Experience within an industry setting is preferred.
- Qualifications: An Accounting Technician qualification or a relevant finance/business degree is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
- Mindset & Fit: * Autonomy: A proven self-starter who can work completely independently without micro-management.
- Commercial Acumen: Ability to look beyond rigid figures and /"think outside the box/" to support a growing business.
- Assertiveness & Resilience: Comfortable cross-checking discrepancies with other team members, coupled with the resilience to handle repetitive day-to-day tasks with high attention to detail.
