Quality Team Lead – Food Manufacturing
Are you a passionate quality professional with experience in food manufacturing?Our client, a food manufacturing company based in Naas, Co. Kildare, is seeking an experienced and driven Quality Team Lead to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step into a leadership role and play a pivotal part in upholding and advancing food safety and quality standards across the site.
As the Quality Team Lead, you’ll report directly to the Quality Manager and oversee a small team, including one direct report. You’ll lead quality and food safety systems on-site, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, customer, and third-party standards (including BRC and others).
You’ll also act as a key point of contact across departments, supporting internal training, managing audits, analysing quality trends, and collaborating on product development and improvement initiatives.
Salary and Benefits:
Location: Naas, Co. KildareSalary: €40,000 – €45,000
Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 (occasional earlier start/cover required)
Work Pattern: Day Shift Only (no rotation)
Hybrid Option: Not available
Holidays: 20 days per year
Pension: Scheme available after 6 months, employer contributions from 10 months
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and develop the site’s QC team (currently 6 in total)Lead and support internal audits and prepare for external inspections (e.g., BRC)
Co-lead the site HACCP team, challenging and maintaining food safety systems
Oversee compliance with customer requirements and internal specifications
Conduct and manage raw material, process, and product testing programmes
Handle non-conformances and drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve quality issues
Support technical input during product launches and process changes
Maintain supplier approval systems and support supplier audits when required
Deliver training across key quality and food safety topics
Qualifications & Experience:
3+ years’ experience in a similar role within the food industryBackground in FMCG or food retail environments
Diploma or higher in a Food Science or related discipline
Strong working knowledge of BRC standards, food safety systems and legislation
HACCP certification is essential
Internal Auditor certification is desirable
Strong communication, leadership and analytical skills
Proficient in MS Office
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
