Job Overview

An experienced Kerb Layer is required for civil engineering works in Cork City. The role involves setting out, laying and finishing kerbs, channels and associated paving works to the required levels and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Lay precast concrete kerbs, channels and edging.

Prepare and level the ground and concrete bedding.

Set kerbs accurately to line, level and falls.

Cut and adjust kerbs where required.

Use hand tools and small plant safely.

Work closely with groundworkers, machine operators and site engineers.

Assist with associated paving and footpath works.

Maintain a clean and safe working area.

Complete works to a high standard and within project deadlines.

Requirements

Previous experience as a kerb layer or skilled groundworker.

Good understanding of levels, falls and line.

Experience working on road, housing or civil engineering projects.

Safe Pass and Manual Handling.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Own tools and transport are an advantage.

Health & Safety

Follow all site RAMS and traffic-management procedures.

Wear required PPE at all times.

Take care when working around moving plant and vehicles.

Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
