The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managed Service Provider Management: Work with and manage the external managed service provider to ensure the reliable delivery of day-today ICT services. This includes overseeing server, backup, disaster recovery, and log management solutions, as well as monitoring and responding to alerts and cyber threats.
- System Issue Resolution Lead: Take the lead in managing issues arising with our existing Portal, Claims Management system, and existing MS Dynamics case management system.
- Incident Management & Escalation: Take responsibility for ensuring ICT issues are resolved or escalated to the proper resources in a timely manner, minimizing disruption to operational areas.
- Major Incident Communication: Ensure the management and resolution of incidents via external providers (e.g., major disruption to IT services) and issue accurate and timely communications to relevant users regarding system and service delivery.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Actively assist in managing vendors and contractors, ensuring their support delivery aligns with organizational policies and procedures.
- Policy & Procedure Development: Support the development and implementation of relevant ICT-related standards, policies, and procedures (e.g., disaster recovery, security policies, AI policies), ensuring adherence and continuous improvement.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate leadership in fostering a focus on continuous improvement and quality service delivery within IT.
- Procurement Lead: Lead on the procurement of ICT services and products.
- Governance & Oversight: Participate in the governance and oversight of digital and ICT solutions and proposals.
- Technical & Application Support: Provide both technical and application support to all Injuries Resolution Board staff in conjunction with the existing Managed Service Provider (Presidio) for all existing systems, with the exception of the New Claims Management System (supported by Codec).
- Second-Level Support Coordination: Organize the provision of 2nd level support for the resolution of faults with relevant application and system suppliers.
- Service Organization Support: Support the organization of services such as software audits, under the direction of the IT Manager and Interim Director of Business Support Services.
- End-User Computing & Hardware: Install, maintain, and upgrade end-user computing devices and hardware.
- Service Improvement Identification: Identify issues and potential improvements with a view to providing enhanced service for users and their applications.
- Project Work: Undertake required project-related work outside of the Digital Transformation Project.
- Data Management Support: Support the Data management function and other key application data used across the business.
- Technology & Trends: Demonstrate and maintain a broad knowledge of technology solutions, current trends, and techniques, proactively pursuing new technology developments.
Requirements & Skills:
- Qualifications & Experience: A relevant third-level qualification and/or professional certifications in I.T. AND a minimum of 3 years of relevant postgraduate experience within an ICT environment. Candidates with over 5 years of experience at an appropriate level may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
- IT Infrastructure & Management: Strong knowledge of Information Technology infrastructure and proven management skills within an ICT environment.
- Project Management: Experience in managing projects with a large number of stakeholders and complex interdependencies.
- Contract & Vendor Management: Proven track record in managing contracts and relationships with external suppliers.
- IT Security & Data Protection: Knowledge and experience of I.T. security and Data Protection.
- IT Service Delivery & Customer Focus: Experience in I.T. service delivery and a strong commitment to customer service.
- Initiative & Proactiveness: A proven track record of initiative and a proactive approach to the delivery of I.T. solutions.
- IT Technologies & Strategy: A working knowledge of I.T. technologies and experience in the development of I.T. and data management strategies and work plans, in addition to data management solutions and application development.
- Current IT Trends: Awareness of and interest in the latest trends and developments in I.T.
Desirable Skills & Certifications:
- Microsoft Certification in Office 365, Teams, Windows, Microsoft Dynamics, Power Apps, Power Pages, Entra ID, Duo, MS SQL, Dataverse, Fabric, Power BI, DevOps,
