Role Overview:The Marketing and Administration Assistant will support the Chief Executive Officer and staff of Carlow Tourism in delivering a broad range of promotional and administrative activities. The role combines event and festival planning support, general office administration, and digital marketing including social media, website and digital campaigns during particularly busy periods or when staff in this area are on annual leave.
The role will assist in the smooth operation of Carlow Tourism’s programmes and services.
Principal Duties:
Event and Festival Support: Providing administrative and marketing support for to
the CEO for Carlow Tourism events and festivals. Assisting with event planning, logistics and coordination
of suppliers, venues and stakeholders.
Supporting on-site delivery of events and festivals whenrequired.
Administration Support: Assistance to the CEO and staff of Carlow Tourism for
administration duties Developing and maintaining databases (members, partners, media, etc.).
Sending bulk and targeted emails using Microsoft Office
365.
Carrying out photocopying, filing and other day-to-dayoffice tasks.
Reception and information desk duties: handling phone
and email enquiries, greeting visitors and providingaccurate tourism information.
Marketing and Promotion: Posting engaging and consistent content across social
media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and X) to increase reach and followers during busyperiods or to cover the absence of other digital
marketing staff.
Assisting with the development and updating of the
Carlow Tourism website, including AI functionality.
Preparing reports on the performance of social media
platforms and website activity.
Assisting with marketing campaigns and promotional
activities for tourism events, festivals and seasonal
campaigns.

Knowledge and interest in social media platforms including X
Tik Tok
You Tube

Be open to making suggestions to improve the delivery of operations
within Carlow Tourism
Working Hours- 19.5 hours per week.
