This role will be full time on site in Cork with some travel between additional depots.
Role Overview
The General Manager will lead the overall operations of the Cork facility, driving performance across production, logistics, customer service, and commercial activities. This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering on financial targets, operational excellence, and strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy- Develop and execute the site's business plan in alignment with the company's overall strategy.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a cross-functional management team to deliver high performance and continuous improvement.
- Act as the key decision-maker on-site, balancing operational efficiency with customer satisfaction.
- Oversee production, packaging, and warehousing operations to ensure optimum utilisation of resources.
- Implement best-in-class processes to maximise productivity, quality, and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage the site P&L, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Monitor and control costs to achieve profitability targets.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, supporting commercial negotiations and driving new business opportunities.
- Introduce lean principles and data-driven decision-making to enhance operational performance.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and employee engagement.
- Identify opportunities for service innovation and diversification.
Key Requirements
Experience & Background- 10+ years' experience in senior operational roles, ideally including experience in manufacturing, distribution, or a related service environment.
- Proven track record of managing P&L and delivering sustainable growth.
- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on operational management skills.
- Commercially astute with strong financial and business acumen.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong focus on health & safety, compliance, and quality assurance.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies (advantageous).
