Our client is an industry leading packaging company who is seeking to hire a Polyner Engineer on a permanent basis.
Key Accountabilities- Providing expert polymer engineering support to our Production and Operations Teams.
- Leading projects for new tool builds and the implementation of new polymer processing equipment.
- Managing the full lifecycle of new product development, from tool trials (SAT/FAT) and hand-over to production, to providing essential start-up support.
- Optimizing all existing processes to enhance performance.
- Identifying and implementing new processes, systems, and automation to continuously improve quality and efficiency.
- Stepping in for the Senior Process Engineer during their absence.
- Analyzing production performance to pinpoint areas for process, system, and equipment improvements.
- Collaborating with other engineering functions to create and maintain robust Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Managing production processes and personnel to maximize throughput and efficiency, ensuring customer expectations for quality and on-time, in-full delivery are consistently met.
- Maintaining processes to guarantee the production plan is delivered On Time In Full (OTIF).
- Monitoring, implementing, and tracking improvements for all production-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Developing and implementing training plans to maximize the performance potential of both engineering and production teams, meeting current and future business needs.
- Monitoring and updating department processes to ensure compliance with management systems while controlling expenditure within budget. You'll also provide early warnings of potential variances.
- Cultivating an ethos of continuous improvement across quality, health and safety, environmental responsibility, social responsibility, sustainability, GMP, and personnel discipline and performance.
- Championing a proactive, best-practice engineering approach to deliver process efficiency and competitiveness, all while maintaining the integrity of our management system.
- Maintaining excellent communication within the team and across departments.
- Staying abreast of the latest manufacturing developments in equipment, automation, and systems to ensure we maintain a competitive advantage.
- Graduate in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline, or equivalent experience/ vocational qualifications.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in plastics processing.
- Demonstrated experience in some of the following areas:
- Extrusion
- Extrusion Blow Moulding
- Injection Moulding
- Injection Blow Moulding
- Tool Design/Build
- Proven people management and communication skills.
- Strong team-building skills.
- Solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, 45001, 18001, and general quality systems.
- Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving.
