Warehouse Manager

Role Overview
The Warehouse Manager is accountable for overseeing all warehouse functions, which encompass receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and documenting materials. This is essential for maintaining an uninterrupted production process and ensuring timely project deliveries.This role requires effective collaboration with procurement, production, and logistics teams to manage electrical components, fabricated enclosures, busbars, and accessories safely and accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
Inbound Operations- Plan and oversee the receipt of materials, encompassing components, sheet metal parts, copper, cables, fasteners, and consumables.
- Confirm that incoming shipments match purchase orders (PO) and material inspection reports (MIR).
- Ensure precise entry of all goods receipts in the ERP system (e.g., SAP MM/WM).
- Work in conjunction with Quality Control to inspect, tag, and release approved materials.
- Manage return-to-supplier (RTS) processes for any rejected or surplus materials.
- Develop and uphold effective warehouse layouts, promoting segregation based on material type, safety class, and usage frequency.
- Ensure accurate bin allocations, rack labelling, and traceability of stock (batch/serial control).
- Establish and oversee FIFO/FEFO practices to facilitate material rotation and minimize obsolescence.
- Perform cycle counts and regular physical stock audits; reconcile discrepancies with ERP records.
- Guarantee that sensitive materials (e.g., relays, breakers, copper) are stored under suitable environmental conditions.
- Collaborate with ICT for the implementation of barcode/RFID technologies and system integration.
- Process material requests from the shop floor or assembly teams in accordance with production schedules and BOM requirements.
- Introduce a kanban or pick-list-based system for streamlined line feeding.
- Monitor and log work order issues as well as the return of unused materials in ERP/SAP.
- Maintain a reservation system for project-specific materials to prevent shortages.
- Coordinate with Planning and Production teams to ensure material availability aligns with project timelines.
- Supervise the handling, packaging, and loading of finished goods for distribution to project sites or clients.
- Collaborate with logistics partners to arrange transportation and ensure all necessary documentation (Delivery Confirmation, invoice, packing list) is completed.
- Uphold compliance with transportation safety standards and relevant regulations.
- Guarantee accuracy in dispatch and ensure timely delivery performance.
- Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse activities.
- Ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations, particularly regarding heavy lifting, electrical equipment usage, and sheet metal handling.
- Provide training for warehouse staff on safe material handling, the operation of forklifts, pallet trucks, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain 5S and lean practices in the warehouse to optimize space utilization and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance team and Internal Audit to ensure accurate inventory valuation and comply with reporting requirements.
- Leverage ERP/SAP modules to track all material movements, generate stock reports, and manage postings.
- Oversee daily dashboards for incoming, outgoing, and overall stock movements.
- Create KPI reports focusing on:
- Inventory accuracy
- Picking and dispatch efficiency
- Material availability rates
- Space utilization
- Safety incidents and near misses
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence (BI) teams to provide real-time data for dashboards and analytics.
Skills & Experience:
- A diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management
- Over 10 years of experience in warehouse and inventory management, including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory position.
- Background in switchgear, electrical panel manufacturing, or the heavy fabrication sector is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Lean Warehouse Management, 5S, or Safety.
- Experience with SAP implementation or warehouse management system (WMS) automation projects.
