Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
Duties: Staff on the Community Childcare Team work with the direction of our Childcare Coordinator, who will implement established procedures and work practices required for safe and educational operation of our Childcare Service. All staff will be required to attend Accredited Afterschool Childcare Training.The core responsibility of the Assistant After School Coordinator is to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Afterschool so that children can learn and develop in a safe, positive, and caring environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Coordinator, and Childcare manager in providing a quality afterschool service.
- Assist children with Homework Assignments.
- Plan and prepare a range of fun, active and practical activities.
- Maintain room, and equipment, to ensure the health & safety of children at all times.
- Provide a fun, caring environment that positively supports the growth and development of each child.
- Liaise with parents/guardians and develop good communication channels with them.
- Deal with queries and enquiries from parents, children, and childcare staff in a courteous and helpful manner
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ensure that child safety and welfare is of paramount importance.
- Ensure relevant legislation and regulations are applied, particularly in relation to child safeguarding.
- Keep up to date with best practice in relation to child development and learning.
- Ensure a good standard of hygiene.
- Assist in good record keeping and report preparation, as required.
