Job Purpose:

The Goods In Operative is responsible for receiving, checking, and recording incoming stock and deliveries, ensuring that all goods are handled efficiently, safely, and accurately. This role plays a critical part in the smooth operation of the warehouse and overall supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and unload deliveries of stock and materials.
• Check goods received against delivery notes and purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report any issues.
• Accurately record goods received in the warehouse management system (WMS).
• Label and allocate stock to appropriate storage areas.
• Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely (training provided if necessary).
• Ensure the cleanliness, organisation, and safety of the goods-in area.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., purchasing, quality control) regarding any delivery issues.
• Assist in stock rotation and inventory control as required.
• Comply with health and safety procedures at all times.

Requirements:

Essential:

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.
• Physically fit and able to lift and move goods as required.
• Basic computer literacy.

Desirable:

• Forklift truck licence (e.g., Counterbalance or Reach).
• Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Knowledge of stock control processes.
