Application Details
Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.
To register your interest you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre.
Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.
Job Description
Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
This position will be based in Dublin 8.
Summary of duties: Create a positive approach to children so that each child is encouraged to develop confidence and self-esteem
Communicating calmly and effectively with childrenAssist children with their homework
Prepare food for children
Setting simple, clear limits and boundaries for children and ensure that these are followed
Supporting Team Leaders and other members of the team
Organizing activities for the children
Cleaning and ensuring that the afterschool environment is maintained to a high standard
To participate in training relevant to the role of Afterschool Worker
Adhering to relevant health and safety as well as child protection procedures
Otherwise assist as directed
