My client, a growing multinational in Cork, is looking to recruit an Accountant to join their highly professional finance department on an initial 9 month contract basis. The role offers a very competitive salary, benefits and a hybrid working option.
The Role:
- Managing the closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounts.
- Conducting monthly analysis of gross profit components and reporting significant variances.
- Overseeing pricing structures, including bi-monthly updates and maintenance.
- Delivering management reports that compare and evaluate pricing and profitability factors across products and services.
- Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and supporting statutory audits for the Irish entities, including collaboration with external auditors.
- Assisting with all corporate tax requirements and ensuring timely submissions.
- Preparing detailed financial analyses and reports to support regular performance reviews and enhance profitability.
- Producing management reports to identify and explain operating cost variances.
- Analyzing financial data related to assets and liabilities and preparing financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and other relevant reports to assess current and future financial positions.
- Conducting financial evaluations and preparing business cases for ad hoc projects.
- Assisting in data collection and analysis for various team and project activities.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the employer from time to time.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (intermediate level).
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP.
- Skilled in data analysis and familiar with reporting and query tools; solid understanding of planning, productivity, and profitability analysis.
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Proven ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and apply analytical thinking to problem-solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Sound mathematical and analytical capabilities.
