Site Manager
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager on a pharmaceutical construction project in Cork.This role will suit a strong site leader with a proven track record in highly regulated environments, capable of driving programme, safety, quality, and compliance across either a large-scale site or multiple concurrent workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
Take full responsibility for the management and coordination of site activities on pharma construction projects.Lead, motivate, and manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project milestones.
Ensure all works are delivered in line with stringent Health & Safety, GMP, environmental, and quality standards.
Drive project programme, sequencing, and logistics to meet critical deadlines in live or high-spec environments.
Monitor and control project costs, labour, and materials to ensure efficient delivery within budget.
Act as the primary on-site point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and reporting.
Proactively identify and resolve site issues, mitigating risks to programme and quality.
Ensure all construction activities comply with current building regulations and pharmaceutical compliance requirements.
Maintain high-quality standards across all aspects of the build, with a strong focus on finishes and compliance documentation.
Manage multiple work fronts or phases, particularly on large or complex facilities.
What We’re Looking For
Strong leadership capability with experience managing teams on complex construction sites.Demonstrated experience delivering projects within strict regulatory environments (pharma, life sciences, or similar highly controlled sectors).
Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.
Commercial awareness with experience in cost control and resource management.
Decisive problem-solver, able to make informed decisions in high-pressure site environments.
Solid technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and current regulations.
High attention to detail, particularly in quality assurance and compliance-driven projects.
Adaptable and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage evolving project requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
Relevant third-level qualification or trade background.Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Site Manager (or similar) role.
Proven track record delivering construction projects, ideally within pharmaceutical or regulated environments.
Experience working with main contractors and subcontractor management.
Strong understanding of building regulations, certification, and compliance standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
